Cancellation Policy

 


1. No food,
drink, or gum allowed in studios (with the exception of bottled water.)
2. Attendance is very important to insure progression for our students. Students who have missed three consecutive classes without prior arrangements, will be dismissed from upcoming performances. If for some reason a student cannot attend their regularly scheduled class because of family, school, etc.., they are permitted to take a make up class in a lower level, on another day. All classes must be made up within 30 days of initial absence.
3. It is very important that all students be in class on time, to insure proper warm-up which helps avoid injury. If student is more than 15 minutes late, they may be asked to observe.
4. Promotions to higher levels will be decided by audition, or by invitation from the faculty.
5. If your you or your child causes damage to our studio in anyway, you will be held responsible for the cost to fix the damage.
6. If you or your child is being disruptive in anyway, they/you may be excused for the remainder of the class.

Awards
Southwest Ballet Academy gives one gifted dancer tuition scholarship annually. The scholarship includes fall, spring and summer of the assigned year. This dancer must attend classes regularly, and on time, have a positive attitude, and work hard. This scholarship will be awarded at spring recital.

Registration and Tuition
There is a $25 registration fee per student with a $15 for additional family members. There is also a 10% family discount on tuition if you have 3 or more students per family. You can take a single class for $10 per class.
Multiple Class Special: one hour class, $35, 2-one hour classes (different classes), $60, 3 one hour classes, $75.00.*

Payment Options
Option One:
Tuition may be paid before the start of each semester, with 5 checks made payable to Southwest Ballet Academy, post dated for the first day of each month in the upcoming semester.
Option Two:
Tuition may be paid by cash or check for the total amount due in the upcoming semester.
If new student enrolls in the middle of semester, they will be responsible for payment of the remainder of that semester. After which time the above payment options will apply.
Tuition payment schedule:
Fall semester tuition due August 1st
Spring Semester tuition due Jan 1st
Summer camp tuition due June 1st
Late Fees and return Fees:
$15 late fee will apply to payments made more than 5 days after the above due dates.$20 fee will be applied on all returned checks.
* Some classes may not apply.

Dress Code
Pre-ballet: Solid colored leotard, pinks tights, pink ballet slippers,
and with hair in bun.
Adult Jazz: Dance attire, jazz shoes, and with hair pulled back.
Adult Ballet: Standard ballet attire. Students in adult classes may also wear cover up items i.e. skirt, shorts, fitted tops.
Hip Hop: Dance attire and non marking sneakers or jazz shoes.
Jazz: Leotard, jazz pants, jazz shoes and with hair pulled back.
Tumbling: Dance attire and bare-feet.
Tap and Clogging: Dance attire and tap or clogging shoes.
Beyond Stretching: Dance attire with bare feet.
Creative: Solid colored leotard with ankle or convertible tights.
Country swing: Non-marking shoes.
Ballroom: Women: Shoes with a heel.
Men: Low traction shoes with non-marking soles.
Modesty Policy
All dance attire must be modest.
SBA has a policy of using the highest standards concerning music, choreography and costumes.
Parents can have peace of mind about the wholesomeness of their children’s experience while at SBA.

Spring Recital
Every student is encouraged to participate in our annual spring recital. There will be $35 dollar recital fee per student, to cover the cost of producing the performance, for each student, a $15 fee for each additional family member, with $50 dollar family maximum. Costume purchases will range in price from $35-$80. These fees are due March 15, 2004. A late fee of $15 dollars will be added to any payment received after March 20th, 2004. The Spring recital is great way for your children to show off their performance skills, and have lots of fun! Alternate payment arrangements may be allowed on request.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation of lessons requires a minimum of 30 days notice. Failure to attend classes without advance notice of cancellation will result in any unpaid tuition will not eliminate the financial obligation to pay any tuition still due for the semester. Upon registration, a spot in the class will be guaranteed. New registration fees are required each year.
